IELTS Writing Expression 1 - 증가, 하락

1. 증가 표현

● 증가하다 : increase, rise, ascend, grow, go up, shoot up
● 급증하다, 치솟다 : surge, soar
● 거의 두배가 되다 : approximately / almost double
● 정점에 도달하다 : peak at 수치, reach the highest point of 수치
● 증가가 더디다/빠르다 : Growth is slow / fast
● 상승 추세가 보여지다 : An upward / increasing trend is seen (in) 

 
 
2. 하락 표현

● 감소하다 : dip, fall, decline, drop, go down, decrease, shrink
● 폭락하다 : plummet, plunge
● 최저점에 도달하다 : hit a low of 수치
● 거의 반으로 줄다 : roughly / nearly halve to 수치 

 
 
3. 같이 사용하는 부사

● 점차 : gradually, in pace
● 빠르게 : rapidly, dramatically, quickly
● 기하급수적으로, 급격히 : exponentially, sharply, heavily
● 눈에 띄게 : remarkably, notably
● 조금 : slightly, insignificantly
● 상당히, 꽤 : significantly, sizably, substantially, moderately
● 꾸준히, 끊임없이 : steadily, constantly, continually, consistently, perpetually, continuously
● 갑자기 : suddenly, abrubtly

 
 
4. 변동 표현

● n년의 기간 동안 변동을 거듭하다 : fluctuate over the n year period.
● ~에 변화가 있다 : There are significant / slight  changes / shifts in ~
● 변하다 : vary
● 여러차례 오르내리다 : go up and down several times
● 거의 변동이 없다(안정적이다) : more or less stable

 
 
5. 유용한 단어

● 점유율 : The share of ~
● 그 다음 해에 : in the following year, in subsequent year, over the next few years
● 바로 아래로 : just under
● 하반기에 : during the 2nd half of the period
